I really appreciate your reporting on reporters and highlighting the value of local news. At last weekend’s Mountainfilm fest, I watched a terrific documentary called “Bad Press” about a scrappy, ballsy reporter trying to cover controversial news on the Muskogee Nation in Oklahoma, but freedom of the press is generally not constitutionally guaranteed on sovereign Native American lands. The community’s elders and officials tried to intimidate and censor her. See @badpressfilm on Instagram for details. The filmmakers are still seeking distribution, and I think it is a really important film for people to see!
