I dunno. Maybe I'm spoiled after working in NYC news where the relationship between journalists and police is quite different. The public's right to know generally supersedes what the cops would like. I get frustrated with the local media's velvet glove approach to law enforcement and the military. I see far too many cut and pastes of police press releases, complete with the copspeak they love to use, only to never see a follow up story. We need somebody like Denver's Kyle Clark who seems to have the news department's latitude needed to produce good, hard hitting stories.
